Mood Swings into Order
The project Mood Swings into Order is a personal artistic exploration inspired by DPR IAN’s album Mood Swings into Order (commonly known as Mito). This body of work delves into the fragmented psyche of the artist, portraying a dualistic narrative between two personas: Mito, a darker self who has taken a tragic turn by killing his wife, and Mr. Insanity, a fractured consciousness desperately seeking truth amidst chaos.
Through typographic design, the tension and conflict between these selves are vividly expressed. Elements from the music video — bats, blades, and other ominous objects representing the darker persona — are intricately integrated into the logotype, creating a haunting visual language.
Conversely, the brighter alter ego, Mr. Insanity, is symbolized by butterflies and objects that reflect a distorted, almost manic perception of the world, giving rise to an alternate logotype that emphasizes the stark contrast between the two identities.
The art direction embraces AI tools while paying homage to DPR IAN’s original visual style, resulting in a cohesive and immersive system that captures the emotional complexity of this internal struggle.
